Master of Science in Cybersecurity


​​Recent advances in computer and communication technologies are not only affecting our office and work practices, but have already gone beyond that to reshape our homes and the way we live and learn. The world is gradually becoming a huge connected village in which geographic and physical boundaries have no effect on interaction and business transactions. The concepts of "Information Society" and “Knowledge Economy" are now central issues in economic and strategic planning. 

As a result, huge volumes of valuable assets have been placed on virtual distributed environments (web systems, cloud systems, VPN's …etc) which raises a panorama of security problems and hazards. Protecting these assets and managing their security is becoming a major issue that requires careful attention and serious treatment by well-trained professionals. 

Enterprise information security is no longer a complimentary issue addressed only at the end, but an integral process built within the enterprise architecture. Organizations are quickly realizing that securing enterprise information assets is a full-scale process that involves policies, strategies, management, and technical skills. The field of Cybersecurity is fast evolving to cope with these needs. It grew from a small narrow field to a full specialization that covers a wide range of topics. Despite the growth in the number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the area of network and information security, there is still huge demand for specialists and professionals in this area. 

The main purpose of PSU Cybersecurity Master Program is to produce well-qualified specialists who possess the technical and managerial skills that empower them to cope with the heavy burden of protecting and securing enterprise information assets. Graduates of the program will be able to fill a variety of security jobs recommended by international standards. 

The suggested MS program provides a balanced mix of theory and practice. Graduates of the program will have a solid conceptual basis coupled with deep professional experience that will render them immediately ready for any job in this field. 

The program is based on best international practices, including offerings of top professional cybersecurity organizations and similar program offered by top universities such as George Washington University.


Due to recent developments in the area of information technology and the fast evolution of distributed environments, organizations are now placing very valuable huge assets on network systems that are naturally exposed to outsiders. As well known, without proper protection these assets can easily be reached and compromised or damaged. Statistics on digital and cybercrime are very frightening, despite the efforts made to protect these assets. Cybersecurity is becoming a major concern for public and private organizations, and accordingly of the most important specializations. At least twenty types of jobs are available for graduates of programs in the area of cybersecurity, which include: Security Architect, Security Analyst, Security Officer, Malware Analyst, Penetration Tester, Vulnerability Analyst, Network Security Engineer, …etc.
