Prince Sultan University Organizes Charity Exhibition "Art Is Tender" in Its Second Session
Prince Sultan University concluded the charity exhibition “Art Is Tender" in its second session. The exhibition was held under the patronage of His Highness Prince Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Prince Sultan University and the Deputy Chairman of Riyadh Philanthropic Society for Science the regular roof of the University. The exhibition was held also as a part of the university activities to serve the society. It was opened; on behalf of Prince Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, by Rector of the university Dr. Ahmed Bin Saleh Al-Yamani.
The Deanship of Student Affairs had organized the exhibition in cooperation with the Aoun Voluntary Club in the university. The exhibition opened its doors to visitors from within and outside the university from 16-18 November 2017. The proceeds of the exhibition were allocated to Sanad Children's Cancer Support Association.
The exhibition included a number of diverse workshops, programs, and artworks for a group of famous professional and amateur conceptual artists. The exhibition contained more than 120 artworks which included paintings, drawings, sculptures and other works. These artworks were selected by a specialized evaluation committee, with respect to the traditions and culture of the society. Nearly 60 of elite Saudi artists attended the exhibition in all the days it was held in. The most prominent artists were Wegdan Al-jamhory, Falah Al-Buqami, who was famous for drawing paintings with nails and threads, and the caricaturist Yazeid Al-Harthy.
The exhibition was opened in the evening for the three days, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. It was sponsored by a number of sponsors including the official sponsor of Prince Sultan University, the supervisor of the organization “Aoun Voluntary Club”, the executive sponsor “VERVE”, the creative sponsor “ON studio”, the artistic partner in the University “PSU ART CLUB”, electronic sponsor “DESTINATION”, and the success partners MERAKI and IZY EVENTS.
It is worth mentioning that the exhibition included a section for the Saudi designers who design different things such as clothes, precious stones, perfumes and many other things. It was accompanied by daily workshops and live shows on the university outdoor theater. There were also recreational activities including games for adults and children, in addition to food trucks during all the days of the event. The exhibition was visited by about 3000 visitors from all social classes.
Note that the first exhibition that was held last year has attracted about 1500 male and female interested visitors from outside the university including a number of princes, princesses, officials, businessmen, famous artists and community figures, and the proceeds were also allocated to the Charity Committee for the Orphans Care “Insan”.
