Admission Guide for the College of Medicine

• Admission to the College of Medicine is to the Preparatory Year for the College of Medicine. There is no direct admission to the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) program for the current 2026–2027 academic year.
• Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission, as applicants are ranked based on the approved selection criteria and the number of available seats.
• Progression to the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) program after the Preparatory Year requires meeting specific academic requirements.
• All applications are subject to review and verification of the submitted information and documents.

1. Applying for admission to the Preparatory Year program based on the specified requirements.
2. Shortlisting some applicants for the personal interview based on the weighted percentage.
3. Ranking shortlisted applicants based on the results of the personal interview.
4. Sending admission notifications to applicants who pass the personal interview.

To be eligible to apply to the Preparatory Year for the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Obtaining a high school certificate, science track, or its equivalent. Applicants who obtained a high school certificate or its equivalent from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia must obtain an equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Authentication by the Saudi Cultural Mission or the Saudi Embassy is not sufficient. For more information about high school certificate equivalency, please refer to the High School Certificate Equivalency Requirements Guide . Prince Sultan University is not a party to the high school certificate equivalency process, and applicants must contact the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding all matters related to the equivalency request.
2. The applicant must be a graduate of the current year or the previous year only. For example, admission to the 2026–2027 academic year is limited to graduates of the 2025–2026 and 2024–2025 academic years.
3. High school average: 95% or above.
4. A minimum score of 85 in the Achievement Test (Tahsili), in addition to one of the following requirements:
   • A minimum score of 85 in the General Aptitude Test (Qudurat).
   • Or a minimum score of 1350 in the SAT.
5. Demonstrating English language proficiency through one of the following tests:
   • IELTS Academic with a minimum score of 5.0.
   • TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 50.

Provided that no more than two years have passed since the test date of IELTS Academic or TOEFL iBT results.

Meeting the application requirements does not mean being shortlisted for the personal interview, as shortlisting for the personal interview will be based on the weighted percentage.

Applicants are ranked based on the weighted percentage, calculated as follows:

• High school average: 30%
• Achievement Test (Tahsili): 30%
• General Aptitude Test (Qudurat): 40%

Or:

• High school average: 30%
• SAT and Achievement Test (Tahsili) combined: 70%
  (SAT scores between 1500-1600 are calibrated to equal 96% to 100% in the General Aptitude Test (Qudurat), and SAT scores between 1350-1490 are calibrated to equal 90% to 95% in the General Aptitude Test (Qudurat).)
  (The Achievement Test (Tahsili) is mandatory alongside the SAT for the weighted percentage to be calculated.)

Applicants are then ranked based on their selection score, and eligible applicants are shortlisted for the personal interview.

Being shortlisted for the personal interview does not mean admission, as admission will also be based on ranking according to the personal interview results.

The Preparatory Year for the College of Medicine consists of the following courses:

First Semester

Second Semester

There are no exemptions or course equivalencies for any Preparatory Year courses, except for English language courses for students who have:

• IELTS Academic with a minimum score of 6.5.
• TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 90.

In such cases, students will be exempted from studying the English language courses in the Preparatory Year only, and they must register the remaining Preparatory Year courses.

Completing the Preparatory Year does not guarantee admission to the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) program unless the student meets the following requirements:

1. Cumulative GPA

Achieving a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 out of 4.00 in all Preparatory Year courses, excluding English language courses from the GPA calculation.

2. Biology and Chemistry Courses

Achieving a minimum grade of B in each Biology and Chemistry course (BIOM101, BIOM102, CHMM101, and CHMM102).

3. English Language

Meeting one of the following requirements:

• A minimum GPA of 3.25 out of 4.00 in the English language courses in the Preparatory Year.
• IELTS Academic with a minimum score of 6.5.
• TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 90.

4. Passing on the First Attempt

Students must pass all Preparatory Year courses successfully and with the required grades stated above on the first attempt in order to progress to the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) program. There is no second opportunity to repeat any Preparatory Year course for the purpose of progressing to the MBBS program.

A student who meets the four requirements listed above is guaranteed a seat to study the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.

Transfer is not possible because this is the first cohort of the College of Medicine. Therefore, the College of Medicine does not accept transfer applications from other universities or colleges for the current 2026–2027 academic year. Transfer policies for future years will be developed later.

The timeline for the admission stage through course registration has been set as follows:

Step 1: Prepare the Required Documents for the Application

• National ID card for Saudi nationals and citizens of GCC countries, or a valid resident ID for non-Saudi applicants.
• High school completion certificate.
• High school certificate equivalency letter from the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for applicants who obtained their certificate from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Proof of English language proficiency through one of the English language tests mentioned above.
• Achievement Test (Tahsili) result, in addition to either the General Aptitude Test (Qudurat) result or the SAT result.
• Convert each document into a PDF file.
• Make sure each document does not exceed 1 MB.

Step 2: Visit the Online Admission Portal

• Visit Prince Sultan University’s online admission portal at https://edugate.psu.edu.sa .
• Make sure all required information is entered accurately and completely in all fields.
• Select Preparatory Medicine and Surgery as your first preference from the application options.
• In addition, the student must select three alternative preferences in case he/she is not accepted into the College of Medicine.
• At the end of the application, upload all required documents. Missing documents may delay the processing of your application.

Step 3: Pay the Admission Application Fee

• The application fee is SAR 500. VAT applies to non-Saudi applicants, making the total SAR 575.
• Wait until you receive an SMS containing the invoice number. This number will be required to complete the payment through SADAD.
• Use the following payment details:
  • Biller Name: Prince Sultan University.
  • Biller Number: 283.

Please note that the application fee is non-refundable.

Submitting an admission application does not mean that the applicant has been accepted. Admission depends on meeting the requirements, the selection process, and seat availability. If accepted, the applicant will be notified through the university’s approved communication channels.

The applicant is fully responsible for the accuracy of the submitted information and documents. The university has the right to take any appropriate action if any information or document is inaccurate, incorrect, or incomplete.

• Preparatory Year tuition fees for the College of Medicine: SAR 3,000 per credit hour.
• Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) tuition fees: SAR 4,000 per credit hour.
• Internship year fee: SAR 100,000 for the full year.

Full and partial scholarships are available according to the university’s approved policies, selection criteria, and availability of scholarships. Admission to the College of Medicine does not mean receiving a scholarship.

• Does meeting the minimum admission requirements guarantee admission?

  No. Admission is based on ranking among applicants who meet the requirements, according to the approved criteria and the number of available seats.

• Does receiving an invitation to the personal interview guarantee admission to the College of Medicine?

  No. The personal interview is one stage of the admission process, and receiving an invitation to the interview does not guarantee admission.

• Can I apply using SAT instead of the General Aptitude Test (Qudurat)?

  Yes. Applicants may use the SAT instead of the General Aptitude Test (Qudurat) according to the approved minimum requirement. However, the Achievement Test (Tahsili) is still required to complete the weighted percentage.

• Can I apply with an international high school certificate?

  Yes, provided that the certificate meets the approved admission requirements and is equalized by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia if it was obtained outside the Kingdom.

• How long are English language test results valid?

  IELTS Academic and TOEFL iBT results are valid for two years from the test date.
