Students from Prince Sultan University, College of Architecture of Design led by Dr. Israa Fardous, actively participated in the live debate “An Exhibition Does Not Need to Be Fully Understood to Be Meaningful”, held at the Diriyah Biennale Foundation in the Jax District.
The event brought together students to explore contemporary ways of experiencing art, debating whether emotional engagement alone is sufficient or if deeper understanding is essential. Through dynamic discussion and audience interaction, students demonstrated critical thinking and strong communication skills while reflecting on the evolving landscape of Saudi art and cultural expression.
The experience was further enriched through an academic field trip that included a private guided tour of the exhibitions, offering students direct exposure to curatorial strategies, artistic narratives, and spatial design approaches. This immersive visit deepened their appreciation of contemporary practices and strengthened their ability to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world cultural contexts, making the overall experience both insightful and impactful.
