Engr. Muhammad Abbasi conducted a workshop on “Basic Switches
& End Devices connectivity, configurations and implementation using packet
Tracer” on November 9, 2022.Eng.Muhammad Abbasi trained a group of ten students
of CNE, EE and CS departments. In this workshop, students learned and performed
basic switches and routers configuration tasks. Students performed how to
secure access to the command-line interface (CLI) and console ports using
encrypted and plain text passwords. Students learned how to configure messages
for users logging into the switch. These message banners are also used to warn
unauthorized users that access is prohibited.
During the second session of the workshop students performed
basic switch configuration. Then, students implemented basic connectivity by
configuring IP addressing on switches and PCs. When the IP addressing
configuration is completed: then, students used various show commands to verify the configuration and used the ping command to verify basic
connectivity between devices.
