The Compliance and Policies Office at Prince Sultan
University, led by Dr. Emna Chikhaoui, recently
organized an enlightening workshop titled "Towards
Building a Compliance Culture." She was accompanied
by her staff. She also mentioned her Compliance
Committee members and the Compliance College
Representatives. This workshop aimed to emphasize
the significance of compliance and foster a culture of
integrity within the PSU community. Dr. Chikhaoui, as
the Senior Manager, played a pivotal role in guiding
participants through the importance of compliance, its
benefits, and the steps necessary to establish a
compliance culture.
Compliance is an essential aspect of any organization
or institution, serving as the cornerstone of ethical
conduct, transparency, and accountability. It ensures
that individuals and entities adhere to laws, regulations,
policies, and ethical standards governing their
operations. Compliance is particularly critical in
academic institutions like Prince Sultan University, as it
safeguards academic integrity, supports fair practices,
and preserves the reputation of the institution.
During the session, Dr. Chikhaoui emphasized that
compliance is not limited to merely adhering to rules
and regulations. Instead, it should be regarded as a
shared responsibility for everyone. A strong
compliance culture encompasses ethical behavior,
respect for policies, and a commitment to upholding the
values and principles of the university.
Dr. Chikhaoui highlighted the numerous advantages of
compliance for both individuals and the university as a
whole. These benefits include minimizing legal risks,
enhancing reputation, fostering trust, and creating a
positive work and learning environment.
Dr. Chikhaoui emphasized the importance of clear
policies, accessible resources, and ongoing training to
ensure that all members of the PSU community are
well-informed and equipped to comply with regulations.
The workshop also addressed the significance of
establishing robust reporting mechanisms to
encourage individuals to raise concerns or report
potential compliance violations without fear of reprisal.
Open channels of communication foster transparency
and facilitate the identification and resolution of
compliance issues.
Under the leadership of Dr. Emna Chikhaoui and the
Compliance and Policies Office, Prince Sultan
University is well-positioned to continue building a
compliance culture that supports its mission and
values, while ensuring the long-term success of the
institution and the well-being of its community.
