Position Summary:
Sustainable Architecture Lab (SALab) at the Architecture Department of Prince Sultan University seeks a full-time Senior Research Assistant to contribute to the research output and activities of the lab. The Senior Research Assistant will actively support the Lab leader and members and help drive the efforts to grow their research output and impact. The Senior Research Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting ongoing research projects and contributing to developing innovative architectural research in sustainability in alignment with the Saudi National Vision 2030. It is an excellent opportunity to work closely with leading experts in the field and expand research collaboration locally and internationally.
Job Description
Research Support:
- Constantly assist the SALab team in conducting literature reviews and data collection, analysis, and interpretation finalized to several publications in high-ranking journals (Q1 or Q2).
- Collect and produce relevant resources on innovative research projects and experiments in sustainable architecture, innovative technologies in sustainable reuse, and future sustainable growth of global cities.
- Collaborate with lab members on research projects and prototype development.
Research task and management:
- Produce, collect, organize, and maintain research data, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Use relevant software tools for data analysis and visualization, generate data results and summaries of research findings, including architectural design tasks, drawings layout, and digital representations.
- Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp as needed.
Documentation:
- Prepare written reports, presentations, and documentation of research findings for research publications.
- Publish in top-ranked journals.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and grant proposals.
- Apply for/attract research grants.
- Conduct national, regional, and international research cooperation, collaborating locally and internationally.
- Deliver seminars and workshop training.
Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with lab members, faculty, and other researchers.
- Participate in SALab meetings, discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. holder with the rank of assistant professor or research professor in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- At least five years after receiving a Ph.D. degree
- H-index above 5 and a good number of citations.
- Must have at least published 3 journal research papers in the last year.
- Post-doc scholar who has recently held a Ph.D. (last 2 years).
- Must have at least 4 publications, including 2-3 good quality journals.
- Conduct research after the completion of Ph.D. in a Research Lab
Additional interests and skills
- Strong interest in sustainable architectural research and design.
- Proficiency in architectural software
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research team.
