As part of the ongoing collaboration between PSU and KPMG, industry
experts from KPMG delivered two lectures to our accounting students on
important auditing topics, including auditing practices, risk assessment
procedures, and the materiality concept. The lectures aimed to close the gap
between professional practices and academic knowledge by introducing students
to real auditing practices and new industry trends.
Throughout the lectures, auditing experts shared practical examples and
case studies regarding how auditors assess risk, determine materiality
thresholds, and apply professional skepticism at various auditing phases. The
lectures were highly interactive, encouraging students to participate in
discussions and ask questions.
Students also gained valuable knowledge about the latest developments,
auditing standards, and new technologies that will shape the auditing
profession, including digital auditing.
