Communications and Networks Laboratory (PLC Automation Center)

The Communications and Networks Laboratory, also known as the PLC Automation Center, is a versatile facility within the College of Engineering at Prince Sultan University. Designed to support both communication and networking education as well as industrial automation training, the lab enables students to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical implementation.
Sponsored in part by Schneider Electric, the lab is equipped with advanced systems to support hands-on learning in:
- Digital and analog communication systems
- Computer networking fundamentals and protocols
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Embedded microcontroller systems
The lab services the following courses:
- EE351 – Communication Systems
- EE434 – PLC Microcontroller
The PSU students have access to lab with a teacher in-charge for students’ assistance and each semester various courses conduct their semester projects to enrich student’s skills with practical experience.
