In a fast-paced world, is there still time to sit and enjoy poetry? Students and faculty members gathered in a candlelit class in Building 1 to listen to and discuss poetry. The event was arranged by Ms. Maram Alkhodair’s ELAN 243 (Poetry) class on November 21, 2019. At the reading, students and faculty alike shared different types of poems that touched them in some way. Some students as well as faculty shared original works that were both inspiring and moving. Many of the attendees couldn’t get enough of the energy and positive vibes felt throughout the reading, with one poetry student proclaiming she has finally had her “AHA Moment” when it comes to poetry! Due to the success of the event and a multitude of requests, the poetry reading will soon become a monthly event starting from semester 192 inshallah.
