About
PSU Digital Academy
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is pioneering digital transformation in the Middle East, as a key lever to achieve its vision 2030 goal of diversifying the economy. The digital economy in KSA is estimated to reach 19.4 percent of its GDP by 2025. KSA is also expected to incur a total expenditure of USD$ 24.7 billion on digital technologies by 2025, estimated to be the largest government spending on digital till now. By 2025, digital jobs will be one of the highest in demand in Saudi Arabia. However, KSA may not be able to leverage this opportunity due to the tremendous digital skills deficit in KSA’s fresh graduates. According to a study by Communications and Information Technology Commission, only 47 percent of surveyed organizations in KSA considered entrylevel graduates recently hired were equipped with the necessary skills to fulfil their job responsibilities. Therefore, it is imperative for progressive universities like Prince Sultan University (PSU) to collaborate with industry and embark on pioneering initiatives in the realm of digital skills development. The Digital Academy is one such pioneering initiative that will not only enable the learners with cutting edge digital skills but also equip them with the requisite functional and behavioral skills so that they become Day One Job Ready. In addition, DA@PSU will provide upskilling and reskilling programs in digital technologies for KSA’s workforce that will play a significant role in achieving KSA’s Vision 2030.
