Under the patronage of HE Prince Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Mohammad bin Ayaf, Chairman of PSU Board of Trustees, the university organized (Model United Nations) for the first time with the participation of 10 universities and 17 high schools from all over Saudi Arabia. 300 participants applied for the conference, and only 80 were accepted. The conference held from 26th to 28th of September and aims to provide an exciting and interactive learning experience about UN work, as it trains the participants on how to carry out discussions and negotiations to achieve a practice note to solve the current global issues. The conference also helps in elevating students' leadership by providing this practical learning experience of the United Nations Model Simulation. MUN trains students on how to solve various political, economic, social, humanitarian, and developmental issues adopted by the UN. It further develops their skills, as students learn research and writing skills, public speaking, logical thinking, teamwork, negotiation, and leadership skills. Moreover, they can learn about the challenges of international relations, UN meetings, and contribute to forming ideas on how to solve the current issues. MUN is a simulation for the United Nations General Assembly and other multilateral organizations, and it provides an opportunity to create new friendships and learn about other cultures. The students participating in this conference play the role of member states' representatives to address current global issues while following the UN agenda. While experiencing representatives' roles, students give speeches, prepare projects resolutions, hold negotiations with allies and enemies, provide offers on resolving international and regional conflicts, and explore the regulations and procedures of MUN conferences. All this to mobilize international cooperation efforts to solve the problems affecting the rest of the world, and disturbing the international community.
