About the Club

CyberTech at Prince Sultan University (PSU) is a vibrant student-led organization dedicated to advancing cybersecurity skills and awareness among its 300+ members. The club bridges academic knowledge and practical expertise through learning, collaboration, and hands-on activities, empowering students to develop their skills in a supportive and engaging community.

Objectives

  • CyberTech aims to equip students at PSU with a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity concepts and practices. The club's mission includes:
  • - Enhancing students' knowledge of cybersecurity through theoretical and practical training.
  • - Providing hands-on experience via workshops, labs, and real-world challenges.
  • - Fostering a community of cybersecurity enthusiasts for idea sharing and collaboration.
  • - Preparing students for cybersecurity careers by connecting them with industry experts and providing career-focused activities.

Activities

  • Workshops and Training: Frequent workshops on ethical hacking, network security, web application security, malware analysis, and digital forensics. These sessions are conducted by experienced members of the club, faculty, or guest professionals from the cybersecurity industry.
  • Guest Lectures and Talks: The club hosts industry professionals to discuss current trends in cybersecurity, career opportunities, and personal experiences within the field.
  • Capture the Flag (CTF) Competitions: Regularly hosting or participating in CTF competitions, where members can practice their skills in real-time problem-solving environments. These events help sharpen technical skills and foster a sense of healthy competition.
  • Community Demonstrations: Public demonstrations to showcase drone capabilities, safety, and applications.
  • Field Trips: Visits to tech companies and events to explore professional applications of drones.

Events

  • Cybersecurity Awareness Week: An annual event featuring a series of workshops, keynote speeches by industry leaders, and competitions. This event aims to engage the broader PSU student community in discussions on the importance of cybersecurity.
  • Collaborations with Other Clubs and Organizations: CyberTech frequently collaborates with other clubs and institutions to host joint events, ensuring students gain exposure to a diverse range of perspectives and technical areas within IT and cybersecurity.
  • Visit to Saudi Azm: CyberTech members recently visited Saudi Azmas part of an initiative to connect students with industry professionals and gain insights into real-world cybersecurity practices. The visit included discussions with experts and a tour of their facilities, which provided valuable exposure to corporate cybersecurity operations.

Achievements

  • Workshops and Training Successes: The club has successfully conducted numerous workshops, enhancing students' technical capabilities and theoretical understanding. Students have gained certifications in ethical hacking and network security as a result of their active participation.
  • Cybersecurity awareness events: The club successfully raised cybersecurity awareness among over 1,000 employees at Alinma Bank and the Ministry of Transportation, equipping them with essential knowledge to recognize and mitigate risks effectively.
