The Registration Unit: Duties & Responsibilities
- Determining the expected number of students to register for each course based on their study plans and levels.
- Preparing and scheduling courses for registration at the beginning of each semester.
- Issuing the academic schedule in coordination with the academic departments.
- Planning and issuing the final exam schedule.
- Following up with the academic departments to determine the teaching load and the distribution of instructors for each course.
- Determining the appropriate classrooms for each course based on the approved schedule and the needs of each course.
- Following up with the Information Systems Unit to prepare the registration system for implementing electronic registration procedures.
- Coordinating with the academic departments to handle any exceptional procedures during the registration period, such as opening new sections due to new professors or increased demand for a particular course.
- Following up on student registration and solving any problems they may encounter in registering for courses, in coordination with the academic departments.
- Issuing electronic or hard copies of academic records for enrolled students after coordinating with the Financial Affairs Department.
- Issuing the teaching load for the Part-time faculty members and providing it to the Human Resources Department.
- Modifying student status (apology, interruption, withdrawal, re-enrollment).
- Carrying out internal transfers as requested by students and in line with relevant regulations.
- Coordinating with the Cooperative Education Unit to list the names of students nominated for cooperative training.
- Preparing for the summer semester in coordination with the academic departments.
- Coordinating and following up with the Graduation Unit regarding students expected to graduate.
- Issuing a report on academically struggling students in the Preparatory Year Program to be presented to the competent committee.
