The
electrical engineering major at Prince Sultan University ranked 401-500 in the
Shanghai World Classification for the year 2023 for academic majors. The
electrical engineering major also ranked sixth among Saudi universities in the
same ranking, which included 10 Saudi universities. This classification is
based on research outputs in the electrical engineering specialty. It is worth
noting that the Shanghai ranking of academic subjects began in 2017. This
achievement reflects the efforts made by the staff of the Electrical
Engineering Department at the university to develop their research capabilities
and publish its outputs in prestigious international journals. It also reflects
the interest of the university’s leadership in improving and supporting the university’s
research capabilities and elevating it to the ranks of international
universities. This high ranking also appears in the department’s outputs, as
the department’s graduates hold high positions in technology companies in the
Saudi market, such as the Saudi Telecommunications Company, Mobily, Google, and
others.
