Program Educational Goals
The Aviation Management undergraduate program offers interdisciplinary professional education designed and aimed at preparing learners for lifelong careers in designing, managing, or consulting about management and aviation management, etc. in public, corporate, and non-profit organizations. Our primary learning goals are:
- Students will apply moral and ethical standards to aviation management decisions.
- Students will demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Students will demonstrate teamwork skills.
- Students will have an understanding of multiple functional areas in aviation management.
- Students will use appropriate models for analysis and planning in the aviation industry.
From these primary learning goals, PSU measures student achievement of these goals through the establishment of Course Learning Objectives (CLO) for each required Aviation Management course that relates directly to any one of these primary learning goals. Students in each Aviation Management course is then assessed on these CLOs at the completion of the course with target benchmarks previously established. The results of the assessment and achievement of target benchmarks are analyzed to both determine student achievement and the effectiveness of course design.
