Following FAQs are the list of questions and answers that are very frequently asked and answered at PSU Central Library. We share these FAQs with you for your information about the library.

What are the opening hours of the Library?
The library is open from 8:00 am to 11:30 pm from Sunday to Thursday. Friday, 4:00 pm – 11:30 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am – 11:30 pm. Library timings are extended on exam days till 2:00 am from Saturday to Thursday and for Friday timings are 9.00 am to 2.00 am. If you want to request library service beyond these hours, you may do so by filing a request addressed to the library administration.
How many books can I borrow?
For graduate and undergraduate students, five (5) general books can be borrowed for two weeks and these can be renewed twice provided that there are no other requests on queue. Faculty are allowed to borrow eight (8) books for the whole semester. PSU administrative staff is allowed to borrow a maximum of five (5) books for a two weeks period.
Can I borrow reference sources, journals, newspapers and magazines?
Reference sources, journals, newspapers and magazines are categorized as IN-LIBRARY USE material therefore can be borrowed for limited time only with special permission of Circulation Librarian at Central Library.
Are group activities and discussions allowed inside the Library?
Yes, but only in assigned areas in the library. The conducive learning environment of the library should be maintained by not disturbing other users.
How can I recommend a book for purchase?
Faculty and students are encouraged to recommend books and other materials for purchase

Can I print documents at the Library?
Yes. You may print any information as long as it does not violate Saudi and international copyright laws.
Are the color printers available in the Library?
No. All the printers in library print black & white.
What do I do if online databases or OPAC are not accessible?
If online databases are not working on-campus and off-campus, please report the problem to SDL coordinator at following details: Email: lklinkner@psu.edu.sa with cc to library@psu.edu.sa. If OPAC is not working, please email to aShehab@psu.edu.sa with cc to library@psu.edu.sa
Can I use the library Printers at the Library? If yes, How?
Yes. You may print any information as long as it does not violate Saudi and international copyright laws.

Who should I contact if I need training on using databases?

How do I find materials in the Library?
The Classification System used in the Library uses ten(10) main classes to classify materials according to their subject. PSU Central Library uses an integrated library management system with an online public access catalog (OPAC) to manage its collections, circulation and searching. The catalog can be accessed at: http://clopac.psu.edu.sa/ What one has to do is to search the OPAC, write down the call number, go directly to the bookshelves and check out the material using a 3M self-check system. If assistance is needed, let any of the available library staff know.
I am off campus, How can I access PSU Digital Library?
PSU users can access Central Library’s subscribed e-resources off-campus. Use your PSU ID and password (the same that you use to login to PSU email) at this link: https://ezproxy.psu.edu.sa

How to borrow the books during COVID- 19?
There are no borrowing facilities of books during the pandemic period.
