Moodle LMS
Moodle is Prince Sultan University’s primary Learning Management System. It facilitates the creation and organization of course materials, including assignments, wikis, forums, lessons, and the gradebook. Moodle also serves as a central hub for communication between faculty and students, supported by ongoing training programs conducted by the LMS Unit trainers. Moodle allows for the organization and delivery of diverse learning resources, fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. Faculty and students receive comprehensive training on utilizing the system's diverse features through continuous programs provided by the ELC Unit.
ExamSoft and Examplify
ExamSoft, encompassing the Examplify application, is the official assessment platform utilized by Prince Sultan University (PSU) to administer secure and reliable examinations. Faculties at PSU leverage ExamSoft and Examplify to create and deliver a wide range of assessments, including quizzes, midterms, and final exams, in a secure digital environment. This platform enhances the integrity of the examination process by providing robust security features, such as lockdown browser capabilities, randomized question delivery, and offline exam functionality through Examplify, which is used by students to take exams securely, which help to mitigate the risk of cheating and ensure fair evaluations. The E-Learning coordinators at PSU provide comprehensive training and support to faculty members on the effective use of ExamSoft and Examplify, covering aspects like exam creation, question bank management, secure exam delivery with Examplify, and detailed result analysis. ExamSoft allows for detailed performance tracking and generates insightful reports, enabling faculty to identify areas where students may need additional support.
Turnitin
Turnitin is a vital tool utilized at Prince Sultan University (PSU) by faculty members to ensure the originality of student work and uphold the highest standards of academic integrity. Faculties at PSU leverage Turnitin to detect instances of plagiarism within submitted assignments, comparing them against a vast database of online resources, published works, and previously submitted papers. This platform provides detailed Similarity Reports, offering a percentage breakdown of matching or similar content, enabling faculty to quickly identify potential plagiarism. The E-Learning coordinators at PSU provide comprehensive training and support to faculty members on the effective use of Turnitin, covering aspects like creating Turnitin assignments within Moodle, interpreting Similarity Reports, and utilizing advanced features such as excluding quotations or bibliographies for precise analysis.
HotPot
The HotPot module enables instructors to deliver engaging, interactive learning materials to students through Moodle. This tool facilitates the distribution of dynamic content, consisting of an optional introductory page, a focused e-learning exercise, and an optional concluding page. The e-learning exercise can present static or interactive web pages, incorporating text, audio, and visual prompts designed to enhance student interaction with the material. These exercises are developed using authoring software on the instructor's computer and then seamlessly integrated into the Moodle platform. HotPot provides a framework for creating and sharing diverse learning experiences, promoting active engagement with course content.
Pearson My Lab & Mastering Link
Pearson MyLab & Mastering Link is a seamless integration utilized by Prince Sultan University (PSU) faculty to provide students with direct access to Pearson's MyLab & Mastering resources within the Moodle Learning Management System. Faculties at PSU leverage this integration to create a unified learning experience, allowing students to access supplementary educational materials with a single click from their Moodle course pages.
