Engineer Your Future: Prince Sultan University Inspires the Next Generation of Engineers at Universities Forum at ALTARBYAH ALISLAMYAH Schools, Riyadh

Prince Sultan University (PSU) proudly participated in the University forum, hosted by ALTARBYAH ALISLAMYAH Schools Riyadh, to guide students in exploring their academic and professional pathways. The event brought together top government and private universities to showcase diverse specializations, with PSU’s College of Engineering taking center stage under the banner Engineer Your Future.

This initiative aimed to introduce students to the innovative specializations and scholarship opportunities offered by PSU's College of Engineering, as well as its other distinguished academic programs. With the remarkable support of Professor Dr. Abdul Hakim Al-Majid, Dean of the College of Engineering, and CE Department Chairpersons Dr. Moustafa Nassaralla and Dr. Yasser Mansour, this event was led by Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hammad (Chairman of the College of Engineering Outreach Committee) and Coordinated by Dr. Muddassar Iqbal (Member of the Outreach Committee) with support from Dr. Ahmed Alkhaleefa (Member Outreach Committee) along with several faculty members and university staff from College of Engineering, Deanship of Admissions and Registration, and, Preparatory Year Program (PYP).

Innovative Showcases at the Booth

The College of Engineering booth captivated visitors with hands-on exhibits and advanced technology displays. Highlights included:

  • Autonomous Vehicles and Drones: Developed by PSU’s Smart Systems Engineering Laboratories (SSEL), these state-of-the-art models showcased the university's expertise in robotics and communication systems. A drone currently under development as part of a PSDSRC-funded project in the REL Lab drew particular interest by both male and female students.
  • 3D Printing Applications: Products designed through 3D production lines demonstrated PSU’s strengths in industrial and architectural engineering.
  • Environmental Engineering Innovation: A portable device for measuring water purity highlighted practical solutions for sustainable development.
  • Architecture and Structural Engineering Models: Interactive displays reflected the integration of design and engineering principles.

The enthusiasm among visitors was palpable as students engaged with faculty and learned how engineering is pivotal for a future-ready career.

Inspiring Students Through Career Guidance

A one-hour auditorium session delivered by Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hammad and Dr. Muddesar Iqbal provided students with invaluable insights into the dynamic world of engineering. The presentation emphasized:

  • The transformative role of engineering in future job markets.
  • PSU’s curriculum is designed to align with emerging global trends.
  • Customized career advice to help students make informed decisions about their academic pursuits.

Students eagerly participated in discussions, asking thoughtful questions about how to prepare for future engineering roles, further reinforcing their interest in PSU’s programs.

Collaboration for Impact

The success of the event was a result of dedicated teamwork. Faculty members from the College of Engineering, Preparatory Year Program (PYP), and the Deanship of Admissions and Registraiton joined forces to provide comprehensive support to prospective students. Planning and preparation spanned two weeks, with strong encouragement from department chairs and the Dean of the College of Engineering.

The College of Engineering booth emerged as one of the most popular among attendees, thanks to its engaging displays, expert faculty, and representatives from the Deanship of Admissions and Registration who provided guidance on scholarships and admissions procedures.
