On October 30th, 2024, Prince Sultan University hosted a highly engaging online seminar titled "Application Strategies Towards Achieving a Sustainable Built Environment." The seminar, organized by Dr. Fatma Hasanain, was held from 4:00 to 5:00 PM and saw the participation of 14 attendees who were awarded certificates for their engagement.
The event featured a thought-provoking lecture by Dr. Martin Nwodo, a distinguished expert in civil engineering and sustainability. Dr. Nwodo obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Nigeria. Currently, he works as a project manager in the construction industry, bringing years of hands-on experience in engineering construction and sustainable building practices. His extensive career has focused on effectively managing building projects through all stages of completion.
During the lecture, Dr. Nwodo highlighted critical strategies and real-world applications in the pursuit of sustainable built environments. He discussed the gap between academia and industry, emphasizing the importance of bridging this divide through research and practical application. His ongoing research into building sustainability continues to explore ways to integrate these principles effectively within the construction industry.
