PSU And The Association Of International Certified Professional Accountants Sign New Partnership

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 12th March 2021 – The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA & CIMA), the unified voice of The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has announced its first-ever partnership with Prince Sultan University (PSU) in Saudi Arabia.

The partnership started in January 2021 and will last for three years. Future collaborations between the two organisations will include formulating and researching new opportunities for cooperation such as course materials, project plans, and exam questions. The Association will also provide train-the-trainer facilities and materials to faculties. Accounting Students at PSU will be able to gain the following certifications from the Association and receive joint Association-PSU certificates for each completed course:

We know that the accounting and finance profession has significantly changed over the past decade, but through our collaboration students will be able to acquire the knowledge and competencies they need to confidently enter the workforce,” said Venkkat Ramanan, FCMA, CGMA, Asia Pacific Regional Vice President of the Association.

In alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, the partnership will support the ongoing development of education curricula and vocational training programmes and promote higher standards within Saudi Arabia’s accountancy profession. We are the first accounting programme in the Middle East to offer very market driven curricula and offer six certifications in addition to a degree like IPSAS, IFRS, IA, Analytics, Taxation,” said Professor Mohammad Nurunnabi, PhD, FAIA (Acad), SFHEA, FRSA, CMBE, CMA, CPA – Chair of Accounting Department of Prince Sultan University.

The Association being the most influential body of professional accountants, represents 650,000 members and students across 179 countries and territories in public and management accounting whereas PSU is a private university founded in 1998 and promoted by the Ministry of Higher Education PSC to Prince Sultan University in 2003 inaugurated by HRH Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Inspector General as a non-profit institution established in Riyadh by the Al-Riyadh Philanthropic Society for Science and licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education.
