Engineering Day 2024 meet with industry delegates

On the 28th of October 2024, the VOCO Hotel in Riyadh hosted a successful Engineering Day 2024 meeting organized by Danfoss, Grundfos, Daikin, K-Flex, and AVR. This noteworthy event brought together a diverse group of students, faculty, and industry professionals to celebrate and discuss the latest advancements in engineering.

The day's activities commenced with an inspiring keynote address delivered by managers and engineers from those companies who shared insights into the future of sustainable engineering. This set an exciting tone for the rest of the event. In the afternoon, the focus shifted to the university's engineering students. They were engaged through various insightful sessions and interactive workshops designed to provide them with hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of current engineering challenges and solutions.

In the evening, professionals from various industries, including academia, were invited to share their experiences and learn about the latest products from the organizing companies. Dr. Umashankar Subramaniam, Associate Professor along with Mr.Sivakumar Selvam, Lecturer from the Department of Communications and Networks Engineering, College of Engineering were invited to attend this prestigious meeting. Danfoss, Grundfos, Daikin, K-Flex, and AVR showcased their product demos, providing valuable insights and practical knowledge to the attendees. This segment of the event facilitated valuable networking opportunities, allowing students and professionals to connect, share ideas, and explore potential collaborations.

During the event, we had the opportunity to meet with Er. Ali Kayed, Sales Manager - Power Electronics and Drives at Danfoss Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Mina Sidhom, Senior Sales Development Manager at Grundfos Saudi Arabia. We discussed potential collaborations in student training, energy efficiency solutions for the university, and research initiatives. These discussions highlighted the commitment of both companies to support educational institutions and contribute to the development of future engineers.

Throughout the event, industry delegates showcased their innovative projects, and studies in Saudi Arabia, highlighting their cutting-edge research and practical solutions to contemporary engineering problems.  The Engineering Day meeting was a remarkable success, providing a platform for meaningful exchanges of ideas, fostering new connections, and inspiring future innovations in the field of engineering.
