President's Digital Learning Excellence Awards for Students
Objective:
- To recognize and celebrate students who demonstrate exceptional digital learning and self-development at Prince Sultan University.
- To encourage students to pursue online education and self-taught skills beyond their formal coursework.
- To highlight students who effectively implement newly acquired digital skills in their academic and personal lives, including their utilization of the Boed Remote Initiative to develop self-directed learning and self-management skills.
- To foster innovation and creativity among students through the application of digital learning.
Criteria:
- Digital Academic Development: Completion of online courses, tutoring sessions (minimum of 5 hours), or self-directed learning of digital skills or skills related to the academic program during enrollment at PSU (supported by certificates, references, or other evidence).
- Compliance with Boed Remote Initiative Guidelines: Adherence to the Initiative standards, such as maintaining camera engagement during remote lectures (compliance data maintained by the Center) and demonstrating active participation in virtual classes (supported by faculty confirmation).
- Digital Tools Utilization: Demonstrating effective use of digital tools to support time management, organization of academic tasks, and successful completion of course projects (supported by submitted project samples, screenshots, system usage records, or faculty confirmation).
- Documentation and Evaluation: Submission of a video explaining how online learning and the Boed Remote Initiative impacted academic performance and the development of self-directed learning skills, supported by detailed examples demonstrating the impact.
Eligibility:
- Any student enrolled in an undergraduate program at PSU is eligible to apply.
- Nominations can come from instructors or the students themselves.
- Students must have completed one academic year at PSU.
- Previous award winners are not eligible.
- Applicants must have no academic warnings.
- Applicants will be evaluated based on evidence provided during one academic year.
