Mr. Gunnar is an accomplished and results-oriented sustainability executive with 20 years of experience in finding new ways to promote economic, environmental, and social strategies and investment opportunities.

Gunnar is Partner at Deloitte and leads the Sustainability & Climate services at Deloitte Iceland and is part of the Nordic sustainability leadership team. Throughout his professional career, Gunnar has overseen the implementation of sustainability and investment strategies to drive international innovative growth with investors, banks, and insurance businesses. Gunnar is highly passionate about sustainability and climate action with an aim to support the corporate and finance sectors transitions to net-zero and mobilizing private and public capital in this director.

He held a similar role at EY before joining Deloitte and before that he was the head of Sustainability at Íslandsbanki. He was a senior officer at the IMF in Washington DC and the European Commission in Brussels. Gunnar is also one of the founders of the International Carbon Registry. He previously held a board seat at Festa, the Center for Sustainability in Iceland.
